Knoxville Library Art Presentation Tomorrow | KNIA KRLS Radio – The One to Count On

A presentation will be held tomorrow for a new exhibit on display at the Knoxville Public Library, created by a Knoxville native. Brady Vanderhart just completed his freshman year at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, and will host a question and answer session on Thursday. Themed “A Year of Being in School, Alone in my Room,” Vanderhart says this exhibit ties into his upbringing as an artist, being mostly self-taught.

“I’ve had a few teachers and friends who have taught me along the way, but most of it’s been self-directed. It has felt like that’s been a similar motif in college.”

Vanderhart created most of the works in his college dorm room during a year of virtual learning with no in-person classes. Vanderhart will be at the library tomorrow from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. to discuss the exhibits and his upbringing as a self-taught artist.
