WOOSTER – After being a camper in the Wooster Christian School art camp for various many years, 14-year-old Evan Berger stated he is excited to be coming back this year as a helper.

What the camp is all about
Ahead of bringing the system to Wooster Christian University, Melody Kirby, art instructor, started the program 10 decades ago at a regional nonprofit ministry in downtown Wooster called Mosaic Link. Students discover about art and Christ
Every day the camp begins with a devotional story time that has a relationship to Scripture. Just after the tale is shared, young children crack into groups to function on art projects and do group routines for the relaxation of the working day.
Every year the camp has an overarching theme that influences the things to do. Kirby mentioned this year’s concept is “repurpose” and she plans to create musical instruments and parts of art with items these types of as previous cans, pieces of furniture and toilet paper rolls.
To pay for materials, each camper is requested for a $25 donation that Kirby claimed goes toward funding the camp.
Kirby explained she shows the kids different kinds of art and tries to highlight artists and artistic individuals who can be found in the Bible so the young ones can learn about the artwork as they develop it.
At the stop of each camp, pupils demonstrate off their artwork to spouse and children and good friends at a closing ceremony and exhibit held on Friday night. After the exhibit the pupils have the choice of taking the artwork household or donating it to elevate money for the school or a nearby nonprofit.
“It displays children what they can do with their artwork, how they can support other people with their artwork,” Kirby reported.
Why pupils appreciate it
