A reading through of spoken term and poetry, influenced by artwork on exhibition at the College of Alabama at Birmingham, will just take put at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 30.
The free digital event is offered by the Abroms-Engel Institute for the Visual Arts and the College of Arts and Sciences’ Division of English.
The third iteration of this Within the Arts Dwell event will element graduate and undergraduate pupils from the UAB English Inventive Writing: Ekphrastic Poetry class. The pupils will existing their poems motivated by artworks on display at present at AEIVA. Members have to sign-up for the party online and will acquire a website link.
Ekphrastic poetry is derived from the Greek word ekphrasis, which means “description.” An ekphrastic poem takes advantage of an artwork as its basis to develop on what is noticed through an imaginative, narrative or depictive description or reflection on the work of art.
