Margao, Apr 7 (UNI) Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat on Wednesday reported that Artwork and Tradition Division ought to commemorate centenary 12 months of renowned artiste Late Tukaram Fondekar.
In a statement, he mentioned,’Late Tukaram Kashinath Fondekar selflessly contributed to new music especially to Sangeet Natak with his mastered artwork of participating in harmonium. Governing administration of Goa by way of Artwork and Society Section must commemorate his start centenary 12 months by organising situations and instituting an award or scholarship in his title.’
‘I urge Art and Lifestyle Minister Govind Gaude to prepare a Directory of all these types of artists of Goa which will aid following generations to know of their contributions. Late Tukaram Fondekar gave new music direction to numerous musical dramas accompanying on his harmonium or organ throughout Goa for just about five to 6 a long time. He also supplied accompaniments to several Kirtankars for the duration of festivals in different temples,’ Mr Kamat mentioned.
The former chief Minister reported Late Tukaram Fondekar was also member of Damuanna Malvankars Prabhakar Natak Mandali and also performed in drama business of Sakharambapu Barve.
‘He presented harmonium accompaniments to noted theatre artists & bhajan artists like Ramdas Kamat, Manoharbua Shirgaonkar, Narahari Volvoikar, Kanhopatra, Shama Vaidya and many others. He gave classes of harmonium to various pupils at Seva Samitis Classical Songs Schooling Centre at Margao. Hans Sangeet Natyamandal received several awards for their Sangeet Nataks less than songs direction of Late Tukaram Fondekar. His contribution to tunes and theatre is enormous and demands to be recognised. It is the obligation of the federal government to admit contribution of all such goan artists who done selflessly with out any expectations,’ Mr Kamat mentioned.
