Artists psyched to partake in Wichita Falls Arts Alliance growth plan

WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — The Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts & Tradition is continuing its custom of strengthening arts in the area by serving to regional artists.

The Alliance recently named the individuals for this year’s Artist Growth Plan.

In 2016, the Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts & Society set up the Instructing Artists Studying Lab that established a roster of artists that would present programs for small children in the space.

To make upon that software, the Alliance also has the Artist Advancement Software the place artists like Bob Barrow and Audra Miller can understand competencies to assistance them as artist business people.

“You cannot cease mastering. If you prevent understanding then I guess you’re useless. Or you’re really bored,” Barrow stated.

“I was hopeful that I would be a portion of it but when I discovered out I was really fired up and I really was amazed by the other names on the listing,” Miller said.

Barrow is a retired theatre teacher that has a various portfolio that contains clay, ceramics and tie-dye.

“Frankly I’m not absolutely sure what I’m gonna do,” Barrow explained. “I just want to perform and get energized by the individuals that we’re getting conversations with due to the fact from my knowing there is all unique forms of [media] associated.”

The 15 participants have skills that array from murals to silversmithing to visible arts.

Miller has expertise in murals and visual arts and has also been a instructor at Fain Elementary for 21 years, eight of all those as an art trainer.

Miller reported she aims to learn from other artists and it’s possible locate new means to access her college students.
