Skateboarding and visual arts will roll hand-in-hand at Gravity Artwork Good and Skate Contest, a new out of doors festival in Ferndale this weekend.
The no cost, inaugural celebration is Saturday at Geary Park, which is property to a concrete skate park in which skate boarders, in-line skaters, and scooter and BMX bicycle riders can display off their techniques or brush up on moves. The park was partially funded by a $250,000 grant from the Tony Hawk Basis.
The art reasonable will showcase far more than 50 modern visible artists. We are enthusiastic to host a celebration of art and community and the exclusive affect of skateboard lifestyle,” said Krista Johnston of Expose Productions, which is partnering with Ferndale Parks and Recreation for the occasion. Partial proceeds will go toward serving to with park improvements and programming.
The skateboard, BMX, in-line skating and scooter contests are run by Contemporary Skate and Surf and is open up to little ones and adults of all ages.
