The Black Music Town project lately introduced that it is distributing $48,000 to 23 Black creatives in the bigger Philadelphia area to create new creative works encouraged by Philadelphia’s Black songs record. Every receiver is getting between $1,000 and $3,500.

In December 2020, the new Black Music Metropolis collaboration in between Philadelphia general public new music radio stations WXPN-FM and WRTI-FM and REC Philly introduced that it had secured funding from Wyncote Foundation to award grants to Black creatives in the better Philadelphia location, to assist them make new projects that recognize and honor the impact of Philadelphia’s Black new music historical past. Work on the new inventive projects will commence immediately.
