Dr. Megan Walsh appointed acting dean of the University of Arts & Sciences at St. Bonaventure

Dr. Megan Walsh, professor of English at St. Bonaventure College, has been named performing dean of the Faculty of Arts & Sciences.

Megan WalshA 10-12 months member of the school at St. Bonaventure, Walsh has, since January 2020, directed the Honors Software, which serves far more than 150 undergraduate pupils at the college. She is also director of St. Bonaventure’s new B.A. system in literary publishing and editing and is former chair of the Office of English.

Walsh assumes the article of acting dean just after Dr. David Hilmey, Arts & Sciences dean due to the fact 2016, was named acting provost and vice president for Tutorial Affairs, a publish held by Dr. Joseph Zimmer in advance of Zimmer was named performing college president. She is the writer of “The Portrait and the Book: Illustration and Literary Lifestyle in Early America” (College of Iowa Push) and co-editor of Frank J. Webb’s “The Garies and Their Friends” (Broadview). The receiver of quite a few investigate fellowships and grants, Walsh was most lately a 2019-2020 NEH-AAS fellow at the American Antiquarian Culture. Walsh joined the school at St. Bonaventure as an assistant professor of English in 2011. She was promoted to associate professor in 2016, adopted by her marketing to total professor in 2018. Prior to her appointment at St. Bonaventure she taught at Temple College and The Ohio Condition University-Lima.

Walsh retains a Ph.D. and M.A. in English from Temple College. She earned her B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with majors in English and heritage.
