MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, MI – Juneteenth will be celebrated in Muskegon Heights this year with a no cost neighborhood celebration.
Households are invited to deliver a lawn chair and head to Mona Lake Park, 347 Lakeshore Boulevard, at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 19.
Fireworks will start at dusk.
Jennifer Ross arranged a Juneteenth fireworks clearly show final 12 months, but she explained this year’s celebration will be more substantial with reside music from U’Neek Soul, games, foods and voter registration.
Ross hopes the event raises awareness about Juneteenth, the yearly getaway that celebrates the conclusion of slavery in the United States.
