LAKE WALES — The Lake Wales Arts Competition has grown each calendar year in sizing, scope and stature amongst Florida artwork festivals. This weekend marks its 50th year and again artists will get along the shore of Lake Wailes for music, meals, amusement and, of study course, artwork.

More than 50 visible artists from across the United States will collect and clearly show their functions at the pageant. They incorporate painters, sculptures, potters, jewelers, illustrators and a selection of other mediums, who for 2021, will compete for up to $22,000 in awards.

Andrew Allen, Lake Wales Arts Council govt director, is in his second yr as festival organizer. He mentioned in addition to the visual arts, the once-a-year pageant often attributes a stellar lineup of musicians and music. That features jazz through the weekend, which include Central Florida musicians who frequently complete at Walt Disney Earth and Busch Gardens.
