Lubeznik Center’s Arts Festival returns Aug. 21-22

 

The 2021 Lubeznik Arts Competition will get put Aug. 21 and 22 in Michigan Town. This well known pageant held by Lubeznik Center for the Arts is at present in its 39th 12 months and is a person of the highlights of summer time in northwest Indiana. It will take place on the center’s grounds at 101 W. 2nd St. to hook up competition-goers to the organization’s dynamic programming and exhibitions.

LCA’s summer season blockbuster, Bramson/Indiana/Lake, a display of functions by Phyllis Bramson, Robert Indiana and Mayumi Lake, will be on exhibit throughout the pageant, as well as 85 exhibitors are envisioned to exhibit their creations.

Laura Cutler will be the juror examining exhibitors’ functions. Cutler acquired her BFA from Otis College of Art & Structure with a focus in Ceramic Sculpture and her MFA in Painting & Anatomy from The New York Academy of Art. She has taught portray, drawing and ceramics at several schools and is presently an affiliate college member at Indiana College South Bend. Cutler’s several grants and awards contain an IAC Personal Artist Grant, the President’s Award at South Shore Arts Salon Display, the Best of Present Award at the Midwest Museum of American Art and the Hoosier Ladies Artists Award from the lieutenant governor. Cutler has co-owned the Thaddeus C. Gallery in La Porte since 2004.
