WATERVILLE — Waterville Makes will get the 2021 Excellence in Arts Advocacy Award from the Maine Art Education Association. The Maine Artwork Training Association is a statewide professional organization whose members are committed to excellence in visible arts training.

Led by Schooling + Outreach Coordinator, Serena Sanborn, WC reimagined current systems and made new initiatives to continue to keep the group connected and engaged in the arts by the pandemic.  Sanborn practically hosted a lot of art courses and camps as a result of WC’s Facebook website page, spearheaded the collaborative Artwork Kits for All plan, which has dispersed over 3,500 art kits to area people and hosted WC’s video series “On the Street.”
