The Sunderland artist grew up doing the job with her spouse and children on the tobacco farm where she now paints. Her representational performs which have tackled both of those the likes of social commentary and farming have been exhibited regionally and nationally, but under no circumstances regionally – right up until now.
Talking about her artwork this effectively respected artist and educator states: “The making of Art for me is a bodily, spiritual, mental and psychological method which can be concurrently humbling and elating. Dowell’s solo show will be held in MCAC’s front gallery. In the back again gallery Dowell is joined by Frederick photographer Donald Dunsmore for “Addiction and Art” – an exhibition that utilizes art to promote dialogue about compound abuse and recovery.
