MURRAY – Murray Condition University’s Division of Artwork & Style and design and Murray State College Galleries will be presenting The Magic Silver Clearly show: The Elena Diane Curris Juried Photography Exhibition, on check out in the Clara M. Eagle Most important Gallery from Sept. 8 by way of Oct. 18. The exhibition, which functions 83 operates by 45 countrywide and worldwide artists, is an open up-concept exhibition that showcases the function of regional, nationwide and worldwide artists performing in all image media, which include but not limited to regular black and white or coloration pictures, experimental or nontraditional gentle sensitive procedures, digital media, movie and movie.

The Magic Silver Display began in the mid-1970s as a juried exhibition made to encourage, foster being familiar with, and reward these included in photographic media. The exhibition returns to Murray State under the sponsorship of Dr. Constantine and Jo Curris, and is in memory of their daughter, Elena. Dr. Curris was the sixth president of Murray Condition. The exhibit is funded by an endowment to the visible arts by household and mates of Elena Diane Curris to memorialize her generous and adventurous spirit and to aid the energy and popularity of the visible arts at Murray Condition. Elena acquired an affiliate diploma in communications from the Style Institute of Technology in New York and a bachelor’s diploma in advertising, communications and images from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa. Around the course of her profession, Curris labored with the Mirabella journal, the Ralph Lauren Company and California Point out University at Prolonged Beach. She also taken care of a lifelong enthusiasm for pictures and the arts.
Magic Silver Exhibit juror Sherri Nienass Littlefield is a New York City centered curator and photographer intrigued in information, collaborative initiatives, and the use of modern artwork toward social superior. Littlefield was the director of Foley Gallery from 2016-2019, and was the Interim Director of ClampArt in 2020. She has served as a juror and reviewer for many competitions, such as Photo Lucida Significant Mass (2020), PDN’s The Curator (2019), Photoville and PDN’s Photo Furthermore. She was a reviewer during the prestigious Palm Springs Image Festival in September 2020.
As a photographer, Littlefield has exhibited her artwork internationally, such as the Brighton Photograph Biennial, the Orlando Museum of Art, the Aperture Basis and the Museum of Modern Artwork — Ga. Considering the fact that 2018, she has served on the advisory board of the New York Chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers.
