SAN ANTONIO – North East ISD’s Roan Forest Elementary school music instructor Matthew Trevino goes earlier mentioned and past when it will come to training audio to his pupils.
His enthusiasm for educating music has even been acknowledged by the Recording Academy’s Grammy Awards.
Trevino was nominated for teaching new music this calendar year, and it’s his 3rd Grammy nomination for training tunes in the past 4 yrs.

When the pandemic hit, Trevino had to find inventive approaches to keep on instructing his learners. So he set up a green screen in his classroom and acquired how to edit audio films.

“They stroll in the hallways and they say, ‘oh this is my preferred position to be,’” Trevino stated. “Or when we open up the vehicle doors for them in the mornings, they say, ‘oh it is my music working day. I’m so joyful.’ It’s extremely distinctive.”
Trevino has been an elementary university songs trainer for 11 a long time. When he started off at Roan Forest Elementary in 2016, he started out the new music group known as “Sonidos.”
It’s a group of fourth and fifth grade students who enjoy on xylophones with one pupil on piano and one more on the drums.
