Regional College students Honored With Arts Scholarships

MILFORD, CT—The Milford Arts Council (MAC) declared that four neighborhood student artists – all significant college graduates – have been named the recipients of MAC Endowment Scholarships dependent on their desire and expertise in the arts and tutorial achievement, MAC said in a launch.

The learners and their mothers satisfied Thursday at the MAC’s downtown Milford location, 40 Railroad Ave. S., to network and share their potential ambitions.

Two pupils from John Regulation Higher Faculty and 1 apiece from Platt Tech and Foran Higher acquired this year’s grants, which are funded by the generosity of benefactors.

“It is a pleasure to do this every 12 months as aspect of our mission to give audiences, students and artists with opportunities and encounters in the arts to enlighten, enrich and entertain,” stated Paige Miglio, govt director for the MAC. “We are astonished by the talent in our location, and we enjoy to really encourage youthful creativity and strength and observe it expand.

“The MAC Endowment was established to market and nurture the arts in Milford and surrounding communities, aiding the group to prosper.”

The recipients of the endowments are:

  • Kailani Banasik, a graduate of Platt Tech, who will be attending Montserrat School of Artwork in Salem, Massachusetts. Banasik will be majoring in illustration, and claimed she hopes to learn a lot more procedures like 3D and CADD even though in college or university.

“I generally grew up with artwork,” Banasik claimed. “When I was youthful, my dad did airbrushing, so I guess it is just in my blood.”

  • Maria Abruzzo, who graduated from Jonathan Legislation High University, programs to big in visual art at the College of Hartford. She hopes to pursue a profession in illustration.
  • Sarah Paulus also graduated from Jonathan Legislation Substantial Faculty. She is headed to the Savannah (GA.) School of Art & Design, exactly where she will big in photography and graphic style. Paulus claimed she has been an avid photographer considering that she acquired her initial camera at the age of 13.
  • Joshua Bernardo is a Foran Superior Faculty graduate who will be headed to Wellesley or the University of the Arts. He plans to review animation.

“We congratulate all of our scholarship recipients and desire them all the best in their future endeavors,” said Jacqueline Munk, chairman of the MAC Endowment Committee.
