FISHER — Robert Andrew Laible passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021.
He was born Feb. 24, 1966, in Standard, the youngest child of Dr. Charles and Carol (Goeke) Laible. He grew up in Lexington and graduated from Lexington Substantial Faculty.
He is survived by his spouse of 27 decades, Denise Seif, and their daughter, Hanna Laible-Seif.
Robert graduated from the College of Illinois with a bachelor of good arts diploma and pursued graduate experiments at Penn State College. His enjoy of metal style and design, geology and lapidary — impressed by grandfather Albert Goeke — led to a profession in customized jewellery. His function is distinct for its fantastically built aesthetic, crafted with an engineer’s precision.
He opened Robert’s: The High-quality Art of Jewellery in 1999 in downtown Champaign. In addition, Robert taught steel perform and jewellery at Parkland University for 21 several years.
An ardent supporter of the arts, Robert was serving on the board of administrators for the Champaign Urbana Ballet.
Robert is survived by his father, Charles, of Rock Metropolis two brothers, Jon of Phoenix and Joel (Amy) of Lexington a sister, Michela, of Danvers his mom-in-law, Martha Seif of Champaign 3 sisters-in-legislation, Shireen (Gary) Moore of Chicago, Renee (Fred) King of Shorewood and Jeannette (Alan) VonKrosigk of Boise, Idaho as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in dying by his mother, Carol his father-in-legislation, Robert Seif and a brother-in-legislation, John Malcolm.
A celebration of his existence will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. June 24 at Silvercreek Cafe, Urbana. Attendees are inspired to wear a piece of Robert’s operate and share stories of the distinctive romantic relationship he was ready to create and curate with all those who understood and loved him.
Robert had a passion for the artistry of jewellery and gemstones he liked to share with other individuals, as perfectly as for his several collections. He appreciated educating persons in a way that motivated their own curiosity.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be built to the Parkland Higher education Artwork & Design Office, Champaign Urbana Ballet, WILL (general public television), the Japan Household or a charity of your alternative.
