Skateboard artwork auction for Jake’s Skate Park | Pics

In 2011, the life of 5-year-old Jake Owen was tragically minimize short when his family’s auto was hit from at the rear of by another driver. To honor his legacy, and ensure that construction on the skatepark named for him is completed in accordance to approach, Federal Hill resident Cindy Conklin collaborated with the Waterfront Partnership to manage a fundraising auction. She attained out to a range of artists from Baltimore and about the country, and ended up with far more than 50 tailor made painted skateboard decks. There are all varieties of distinct decks 2 painted by a person of Jake’s shut childhood pals, Reid, an electronic triptych from California-based mostly artist AJ Pyatak, and there’s even an autographed board from John Waters.
