Two Hyperallergic Editors Amid Recipients of Rabkin Prize for Visible Arts Journalism


Eight visual arts journalists, amid them two of Hyperallergic’s personal, have been awarded the 2021 Rabkin Prize, a prestigious, nomination-centered difference bestowed per year by the Dorothea and Leo Rabkin Foundation.

Hyperallergic Information Editor Jasmine Weber and Hyperallergic Weekend Editor John Yau ended up among the the 8 recipients this calendar year, along with Raquel Gutiérrez, who has also contributed to Hyperallergic, and Aruna D’Souza, Jarrett Earnest, Yinka Elujoba, Jennifer Huberdeau, and Mark Lamster. All grantees will obtain a $50,000 award.

Recipients are nominated by a panel of 15 individuals doing the job in the visible arts who are questioned to discover “the necessary visual art journalist operating in your section of the region.” Considering that the Rabkin Prize was released in 2017, the basis has awarded a full of $2,275,000 to person art writers.

Artist Leo Rabkin and his wife, Dorothea, amassed a single of the most critical collections of American people and outsider art in the United States, and endowed the Basis in 1999 to preserve the legacy of Leo Rabkin’s function and support the contributions of these doing the job in the visual arts.
