VAC hosts keiki 3-D artwork workshop this summer season

It is summertime! And what greater way to kick off the year with the “Keiki 3D Artwork & Design” workshop at Volcano Artwork Center’s Niaulani Campus.

The workshop will be led by Nikole Nelson from 10-11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays from June 1-July 6.

Children ages 6-12 will learn design and style fundamentals and perform with a wide variety of mediums to create 3-D artworks. This class breaks down the system of sculpture and will make it accessible to all.

Primary use of electricity resources (mouse-pad sander and drill) will be taught. Operate will be developed with each day components that can be observed at the components store. Mediums incorporate plywood, cardboard, sculpting putties, paint, nails/screws and string/yarn.

Security protocol will be enforced — goggles, masks, gloves and ear safety to be worn as wanted.

Classes will contain:

• Volcano summit reduction sculpture (two lessons).

• Medium: Plywood, cardboard, glue, sculpting mediums, paint.

• Silhouettes: Nails and String (two courses).

• Medium: Plywood, paint, nails, string.

• Repetitive shape sculpture (two classes).

• Medium: Plywood and paint.

The cost to show up at is $120, or $110 for VAC users, plus a $30 source rate.
