“Street View Road Trip” by Artist Alice Tye

Alice Tye (earlier highlighted right here) is a London-based mostly illustrator and painter, represented by Jelly. With a degree in illustration from Camberwell Higher education of Artwork, Tye has exhibited across London and has worked for various organizations and publications, such as Moët Hennessy, Expedia, and The Guardian. “Cinema and architecture have been massive inspirations for my work given that I commenced my vocation,” she describes. “I frequently use the visible language of films in both equally my compositions as nicely as my color palettes. Depicting these scenes in the distorted viewpoint of the revolving digicam, Tye’s paintings are both of those vivid and thorough, yet eerily continue to. She elaborates: “The streets are vacant, a parked car or truck sits exterior a motel, a solitary vehicle follows in the length. The paintings seize the legendary American tropes—the cars and trucks, the motels, the broad streets, nevertheless the scenes do not experience idealized or bombastic.
