The photos in the exhibition characteristic Individuals of Norwegian, Swedish, and Finnish ancestry in the communities of Decorah Hancock, Mich. Ephraim, Wis. Pequot Lakes, Minn. and Lindsborg, Kan.
Skogg is a photographer, educator and Nationwide Geographic Explorer with expertise documenting cultural stories from the United States to Morocco, Greenland, Iceland, Colombia and beyond. Born and elevated in Wisconsin, Skogg’s most the latest photographic investigation is closer to property and pushed by the motivation to immerse, have an understanding of and visually preserve the region’s Scandinavian and Nordic tradition. In 2018, Skogg acquired a National Geographic Storytelling Grant for her job “Scandinavian American” to doc the Higher Midwest’s cultural connections to its emigrant heritage and advertise an interest in one’s very own genealogy.
